Love One Another

Posted by Generation of Prayer on December 23, 2008 at 6:19 PM

Love is mentioned througout the Bible many times. So many times I feel that as Christians we aren't being loving enough. Whenever there is someone in school who made a bad choice or is having a hard time we go and criticize them and talk about them. Or we say we can not be friends with them anymore because of the bad choices they have made. The Bible says,

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Matthew 7:1-5

Jesus sat with the sinners, he ate with them, he talked with them, and prayed for them. If we are supposed to be like Jesus, we need to love one another. I am not saying that you should be putting yourself in the wrong environments by hanging out with people that are not good influences. But love on people. If someone says something mean to you, blow it off. Continue to love on people.

God is love. Jesus showed love. We need to love.
